I’m Camden Shuman, the engineer behind The Engineering Way. I work as a Project Controls Engineer at TRISO-X in Oak Ridge, where we’re helping build the future of advanced nuclear fuel. My day job is all about aligning schedules, resources, risks, and people so complex projects actually get built. That experience, combined with my own journey through internships, leadership roles, and hard lessons, fuels my conviction that technical skill alone isn’t enough. The engineers who create outsized impact are the ones who keep learning on purpose, who can explain their ideas simply, and who are willing to take responsibility instead of waiting to be picked.

This project is my way of distilling what I’m learning about building a career like a business: compounding skills, building leverage, and serving others with real excellence.
